Behind the Nature Photography Image of The Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch State Park

The Flume in Franconia Notch State Park is a natural gorge in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The beautiful cascading Flume Brok, a mountain stream, flows through this narrow canyon. The Flume Gorge is at the base of Mt. Liberty and about 800 feet long. The covered Conway granite walls rise up to 90 feet and are covered in moss, flowers and ferns. Positioned at the bottom of the gorge I equipped my camera with a wide angle lens to capture this magical place in its complete glory. A polarizing filter eliminated unwanted glare on the flora and granite walls. Combined with the low light a Long Exposure Photography image was easily achievable, thereby creating silky waters streams of the tumbling Flume Brook waters.

During digital post processing I cleaned up the image from dust spots, adjusted lighting, contrast and color saturation before sharpening the final New Hampshire photo image of Flume Gorge.

Good light and happy photo making!
