Brookline photography image showing my hometown at Coolidge Corner in the wee hours with its iconic landmark the S.S. Pierce building and Coolidge Corner t-stop of the Boston greenline.
Coolidge Corner is a popular neighborhood of Brookline, Massachusetts, centered around the busy intersection of Beacon Street and Harvard Street. The neighborhood was named after the Coolidge brothers' general store that opened in 1857 at that intersection at the site of today's S.S. Pierce building. For many years it was the only commercial business in north Brookline. Coolidge Corner developed as a suburb of Boston, only minutes away from Boston Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox. The town is very pedestrian-friendly and has a walk able feel. Many popular coffee shops, pharmacies, small independent boutiques, the independent bookstore Brookline Booksmith, and ethnic restaurants are located there.
