Description
New Hampshire White Mountains photography of the Eagle Cliffs and The Eaglet at the shoulder of Mount Lafayette. The cliff in the White Mountain National Forest of New Hampshire was photographed during New England fall foliage peak colors in late September.
The Eagle Cliffs are part of the Franconia Notch State Park and are located opposite of Cannon Mountain, a popular skiing destination with a tram running to its top. The name of the cliffs resides from the eagles that sometimes roost there. Franconia Notch State Park is a beautiful and scenic hiking destination and part of the famous New Hampshire White Mountains. The park in northern New Hampshire is easily reached via Interstate 93 that passes through Franconia Notch, a scenic mountain pass between the Kinsman Range and Franconia Range. There are many parking areas that allow to explore the many attractions in the state park; the Flume Gorge and visitor center, the Basin, the Old Man of the Mountain historical site, fishing in Echo Lake and Profile Lake, and miles of hiking, biking and ski trails. The northern part of the park, including Cannon Mountain and Echo and Profile lakes, is in the town of Franconia, and the southern part, including Lonesome Lake and the Flume, is in Lincoln.
Good light and happy photo making!
My best,
Juergen
