I stopped at the center of Somesville on my recent trip to Maine Acadia National Park to photograph the iconic white wooden bridge that forms a beautiful arch over a tiny pond. Morning light works best here and it is famous for pictures in the fall. On my trip home I noticed that the Somesville Historical Society honored Memorial Day by hanging an American Flag across the bridge. As it was overcast I decided to head back at twilight to capture the entire scenery after sunset. I am sure there will be an American Flag hanging of the 1780 Somesville Selectman's Building and its historic bridge blowing in the wind on the 4th of July as well.
