Description
Portland Backwater light as seen from Bug Light park in Portland Maine. The Portland Breakwater Light ask as Bug Light was built in 1875. It is one of Maine's most elegant lighthouses. Though modeled on an ancient Greek monument, it was built with plates of cast iron. It was dubbed "Bug Light" due to its small size. The light sits in popular Bug Light Park in South Portland. The scenic Maine lighthouse can also be seen from several Casco Bay cruises.
