Description
Boston Quincy market and Faneuil Hall Marketplace is popular with locals and tourists for its food stalls, restaurants, shopping areas and street performers. After sunset twilight paints the sky blue while the city lights around Quincy Market become alive.
Faneuil Hall is located near the waterfront and today's Government Center, in Boston, Massachusetts. It has been a marketplace and a meeting hall since 1742. Faneuil Hall Marketplace was the site of several speeches by Samuel Adams, James Otis, and others encouraging independence from Great Britain. Today it is part of a Boston National Historical Park and a well-known stop on the popular Freedom Trail. In 2008, Faneuil Hall was rated number 4 in America's 25 Most Visited Tourist Sites by Forbes Traveler. Nearby Quincy Market is a historic building near Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. It was constructed 1824 to 1826 and named in honor of Mayor Josiah Quincy, who organized its construction without any tax or debt.
